Nike ends sponsorship deal with Brooklyn Nets guard after social media post
Nike has ended its endorsement deal with Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving, one month after he shared a movie containing anti-Semitic remarks on social media. Additionally NBA fined Kyrie and banned him for eight games. Irving, a seven-time NBA All-Star, has been with Nike for eight years and had a $11 million contract with the company as of 2019. To have a better understanding of the issue It's important to note that Kyrie didn't say anything offensive or didn't even promote the movie; he just shared it on his Twitter profile without even watching it. In my opinion, Nike and the NBA are overreacting, and he could have simply apologized, instead of them banning him and ending contracts, though Kyrie appears to be happy after Nike has ended their partnership because he recently played a game wearing one of his signature shoes with the Nike logo covered and the words "I AM FREE" written on it. source : https://www.bbc.com/sport/basketball/63866184
