Dark Matter and Dark Energy

Scientists calculated that matter that we are built of and is everywhere around us accounts for less than 5 % of the entire universe. So what is the remaining 95 % and how does that work ? Let me explain. The rest of universe is dark matter (25%) and dark energy(70%), both of which are invisible. As always when it comes to astronomy the only thing that we know about them is that they exist.  We can speculate about them through calculations, theories and observations. When scientists were trying to figure out why the universe is structured the way it is they found out that there's not enough normal matter for the gravity to hold the galaxies together, so they concluded that there is something more than normal matter - dark matter. We can also kind of see it because places with high concentrations of it bend the light passing near by. Dark energy is also pretty weird, we cannot see it, feel it or smell it. From Edwin's Hubble's discovery in 1929 we know that the universe is expanding. We aren't sure about what causes the expansion but scientists believe that some invisible force drives it. That force being dark energy. This explanation is pretty simplified but it covers the most important stuff and i bet noone would like to read some physics formulas.
