Beginnings of Astronomy

 Astronomy is the oldest science dating back to antiquity. Oldest proof of ancient astronomy is a carving in mammoth's tusk featuring a figure whose limbs are positioned as the stars in the constellation of Orion. It is between 32500 and 38000 years old. It's also one of the oldest known representations of humans. Early cultures identified celestial objects with gods and spirits therefore it is believed that first astronomers were priests. They thought that universe was a manifestations of god. This shows that astronomy has been with humans from the beginning.
